MWH Soft President Paul Boulos Joins National Association of GIS-Centric Software Board of Directors
Broomfield, Colorado USA – MWH Soft, a leading global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, today announced that Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and COO of MWH Soft, has been named to the Board of Directors of the National Association of GIS-Centric Software (NAGCS). Boulos was elected by the founding members of NAGCS to guide the organization toward achieving its mission: furthering the development of GIS-centric solutions across all industries.
Founded on July 30, 2004, by a consortium of leading technology providers, NAGCS is an association of ESRI (Redlands, CA) Authorized Software Developers dedicated to designing, creating and certifying GIS-centric (geocentric) software solutions and promoting their unique characteristics and benefits — including interoperability, open standards and shared access among related applications. To distinguish GIS-centric solutions, NAGCS established a rigid certification process whose criteria include use of the GIS geodatabase as the feature database, non-redundant feature data storage, a fully user-definable feature data model, and the ability to be customized without vendor support. The NAGCS Board consists of distinguished GIS leaders from a variety of industries. Its goal is to support NAGCS’ president in devising new strategies and refining existing methods of promoting a clear understanding of GIS-centric solutions and ensuring that systems meet stringent GIS standards. "We are extremely pleased to welcome a professional of Paul’s caliber to our board," said Brian Haslam, President of NAGCS. "Paul is an exceptionally talented executive with an tremendous wealth of technical knowledge and expertise in building top brands. His inspired, innovative and compassionate leadership will be invaluable in helping us strengthen and expand our organization on a global level." "I am honored to be joining such a dedicated group of people," Boulos said. "The members of the NAGCS board have a powerful vision for the future of geocentric technology, and I am eager to work closely with them in building the organization’s brand and advancing its important mission and growth."
